Why I Fell In Love With Dubsado

Why I Fell In Love With Dubsado

I have a confession to make, I have been in a relationship with 17Hats for a couple of years and have previously sung its praises and recommended countless people to it…. But now I’ve fallen out of love. And more importantly, I’ve fallen in love with someone else. My new crush is Dubsado. It’s more than a crush though, I’ve jumped in with both feet and am in lust with it’s clean interface and modern layout.

Let me start by saying that I don’t HATE 17Hats, I’ve simply found something that I think is more suited to me.   I joined 17Hats when not only my business was young but so were they.  They had a wonderful product and lofty promises of what they were going to become, unfortunately, what they have become is not what I need.

Welcome to the FamilyDubsado on the other hand not only has a product with bells and whistles but the service that I crave and hold so dear.  I specialise in customer service and do all that I can to provide my clients (and my clients’ clients) the absolutely best service at all times.  And clearly, Dubsado also feels this is a priority for them.  You only need to take a look at their FB Community to witness how amazing they are with customer communication and improvements.  Customer service is so important that I even received a welcome gift in the mail today, all the way on the other side of the world from them!

Becca and Jacob Berg, the family behind this family business believe in transparency for their customers and have their project timeline made available for all and sundry.  You can see what they have coming and when, here.  And I can vouch that in the few months that I’ve been following Dubsado, they have
somehow, miraculously, held to this timeline!

In addition to their customer service, Dubsado have some valuable features for all small businesses:

Customer Portal

Ever wish you could have a space for you and your clients to put all your shared documents? Somewhere they can view their current and past invoices, signed contracts, update their contact details and view the emails you’ve sent them? This is that space! (Plus there are more collaboration and communication features planned.)  Each job has a dedicated portal link which can either be emailed to them or alternatively, you can set up a client portal page on your website (as I have done here).

Lead Capture

Create a lead capture form and embed directly on your website (or Facebook Page) and have your lead info feed directly into Dubsado and even send them an automatic reply and activate a workflow.

Workflow

Never miss sending an email or a step in your processes by setting up a workflow and have these things send automatically.  Don’t want something done by itself?  Then set it as a reminder for yourself instead.

Electronic Documents

Are you sick of using half a dozen different apps to conduct your client onboarding process?  From Dubsado, you can send them a detailed quote for acceptance, then their contract and even a questionnaire for further details.

Invoicing

Save package details within Dubsado and create your client invoices ready to send with just a few clicks, including making direct credit card payment available.

Bookkeeping

Track your income and expenses, create categories and pull financial reports.  Bank account and Quickbooks integration are on their way too.

Calendar

Sync your Dubsado calendar with your other biz or personal calendars and never double book yourself again!

Templates

Save canned emails, invoices, quotes, contracts and sub-contracts so that you are always organised and nothing is ever left to chance.

When you combine the above together, you are left with a seriously well oiled machine!  For instance;

  1. Lead comes in through your website
  2. Workflow is activated
  3. Auto-reply is sent out including enquiry questionnaire
  4. Questionnaire is received and quote is created
  5. Quote sent and accepted
  6. Invoice and contract created and sent
  7. Invoice paid, contract received and auto reply with portal details sent

Does it get any easier than that?!
